Not sure what would possibly be gained from sharing. Other than possibly outing the small group of car enthusiasts there who would attack this from the other end of the spectrum you are referring to.

Some of them are already here. Others have Oppo rights but haven't posted. Others would possibly appear, but might never come over after our "welcome".

There are a decent number of folks who have privileges in both areas. And most of them know we can be a bit crass (so can they, to be honest. But we're each crass in unique and different ways).

Odeck and GT have both had troll issues (big, ugly, issues) and have been more hesitant to let strangers in.

I offered assistance to both Odeck and GT (though I participated in both pre-kinja) when they switched to Kinja because Oppo was the first to go and I had some experience with the controls and changeover and moderating powers. So I got authorship on both more or less when they changed over. It helps that I was a known quantity to the primary moderators there at the time.

And this is exactly why other forums are less welcoming to accept new posters and authors. Groupthink? Good luck if you're going to be like this. TAY? I'm only a poster there, I'm not anywhere near what they want out of an author much less mod. Photography? Well, thats the playground for me but it makes sense for me.

This brings me to another issue that Oppositelock is handing out posting rights and authorship rights left, right and center way too freely lately. We can have at it later if you want, but thats just me view for a while. I'm all for increasing the member count but not the way we do it.

And I'll do it and then speak to the rest of the mods to defend why. And I'll cite history as my guide. Because Hardigree has done the exact same thing. I'm trying to steer LZ gently.

This is Hardibro's/Porsche's playground, the rules are well laid out and the simple act of trolling any other page at all makes no sense.

I say if you have a problem with another page, deal with it on THAT page. Not here. Don't share. Don't bring it back here. You are on your own. If its intentional, GTFO to your posting rights. If its valid and it spirals out of control? Well, that requires interpretation that is up to the mods. But each mod of each section is free to ban/burner you at their discretion as well.

Call me slightly more mature, I just have less and less of a tolerance for it.

The handbook basically spells that out. Deal with topics where they occur. Don't spill out into other posts, don't create posts about it, don't call to arms. I almost went ballistic over the JK Trotter thing (but it was, kind of, started by Patrick George, so...).

Well, our Captain George basically begged for Oppo to start in on the good times and you know what, I'm glad JK took it in stride and just let it happen. That entire event could've turned out much more nasty if it was handled wrong, truth is it was a few hours of lulz so its hard to stay mad.

Jesus why am I being so reasonable. This is bizarre.

Not to be the devil's advocate, but since this picture is assuming things about people of both genders, it would be you who is sexist for assuming that only women are to be offended by it. That is, assuming you're assuming that. At least that's how some feminists/"feminists" (not sure which) would explain it to you, I've felt it first-hand at work. :)
